The Sleepy Eye City Council on Tuesday unanimously approved the final plans and specifications for $6-million worth of proposed street and utility project. Work will take place later this year on much of Water Street and other areas of Sleepy Eye, mainly on the south and southwest sides of town. In other business Tuesday, the council approved a bid for lift station, forcemain, and control structure improvements this year. The low bid of just-over $1-million came from Minger Construction of Chanhassen, and was 3% below the city engineer’s estimates. The council also approved a $2,500 subsidy for the Sleepy Eye Chapter of Let’s Go Fishing for 2012.
