The New Ulm Public Library celebrates it’s 75th anniversary this week with a special “Happy Birthday Library” event. The family fun begins at 6:30pm on Tuesday at the New Ulm library, and features stories and songs as well as cookie decorating. Registration is not required. The library’s anniversary celebration kicked off on Sunday when a large mural was unveiled to a standing-room-only crowd. The 5×10 mural depicting an encampment of Native Americans was commissioned by the library for the anniversary celebration. Contributions from Schell’s Brewery and private individuals funded the project.
