Local area authorities have issued a warning about a new scam circulating lately. Residents report receiving a postcard in the mail that claims they are eligible for a $100 rebate from stores such as Wal-Mart and Target. When the potential victim calls the phone number provided, however, they are asked to give a credit card number in order to receive the rebate. This is a scam, and the rebate is never received. Remember that if something sounds to good to be true, it probably is.
