New CEO For 3M 09 Feb 12

There is a changing of the guard at 3M. Company officials say chief operating officer Inge Thulin has been promoted to chief executive officer and a member of 3M’s board. She will replace current CEO George Buckley, who is retiring on February 24th. 3M manufactures hundreds of products for the global marketplace, including a number of iconic brands, such as Post-Its and Scotch Tape. The company has been in New Ulm since 1962, and currently operates a 532,000 square-foot plant on 60-acres in the community that makes 13,000 different products per-year and employs around 950 people.
