Man Banned After Filming Girls 27 Feb 12

A 58-year-old Waseca County man has been banned from attending any future functions at Mankato Public Schools after he was caught inappropriately videotaping a player at a girls basketball game. A parent at the Mankato West game had reported that an unfamiliar person was videotaping a particular athlete using “suspicious filming and zooming techniques.” School staff were allowed by the man to view the videotape and additional prep games, including a Lake Crystal girls game, and other legal, but disturbing images were witnessed. No criminal charges are being filed, but the man was given a formal trespass notice from the school district. Other area school districts have been notified as well.
