A 61-year-old Madelia man faces multiple felony charges, including burglary, robbery and assault over allegations that he broke into an occupied home with a handgun this past weekend and stole cash from a resident. Jonathan Edward Jacobson is accused of entering the home on 2nd Street Southeast in Madelia at around 4am Saturday and demanding cash from one of the residents. He allegedly threatened to shoot the man with the small handgun he was carrying, and reportedly left the scene after taking a hundred dollar bill. Madelia police later executed a search warrant on Jacobson’s residence, and found cash and the loaded clip to a .22-caliber handgun. The gun was later located on a bookcase near the apartment building’s laundry room. Jacobson faces up to 20 years in prison.
