LCWM Sup’t Search 20 Feb 12

The search continues for a new superintendent for the Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial School District. Current Lake Crystal Superintendent Les Norman is retiring on June 30th after 12 years with the district. School Board Member Kent Thiesse says it will continue to be a full-time position. A total of 25 applications were initially received for the position, with that number being narrowed down to 6 finalists last week. Those finalists include: Paynesville Superintendent Todd Burlingame, Jordan Elementary Principal Stacy DeCorsey, BOLD Superintendent Tom Farrell, Sleepy Eye High School Principal Shane Laffen, MACCRAY Superintendent Greg Schmidt, and Mountain Lake Superintendent Bill Strom. Those finalist will be narrowed down to the top 3, with more interviews taking place next week. A decision on the district’s next superintendent is expected to be announced during the March 19th Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial School Board meeting.
