The search for a new superintendent for the Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial School District shifts into high gear today (MON). Current Lake Crystal Superintendent Les Norman is retiring at the end of June after 12 years with the district. School Board Member Kent Thiesse says they received a total of 25 applications to replace him. The initial 25 candidates will be narrowed down to 5 or 6 finalists during the Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial School Board meeting this evening. Interviews with those finalists will then take place over the course of the next month, with a decision expected in March. It will remain a full-time position.
