A fund has been created to help the family of a 7-year-old Montrose boy who was killed Friday when an Arlington man apparently ran a red light and his car hit the boy while he was waiting for his school bus. Second-grader Hayden Solien died Friday morning. Donations can go to The Hayden Solien Benefit Fund at Citizens State Banks in Montrose and Waverly. 47-year-old Robert Mercier of Arlington also died in the crash. An investigation into the circumstances leading up to the accident is ongoing.
