KNUJ’s Hometown Hero for the month of February is Stan Boushek of Redwood Falls. Stan is a mail carrier in the rural Echo area who spotted a woman who had fallen on the ice lying on the ground near her home. He called 911 and stayed with the woman until rescue crews arrived, possibly saving her life in the process. He is also a lifetime volunteer with community events in Echo, including the annual Smelt Fry to raise funds for local firefighters. The Hometown Hero recognition is sponsored by KNUJ AM and FM and select Thrivent Financial For Lutherans agents. Nomination forms for YOUR Hometown Hero are available at the KNUJ and SAM 107.3 studios in New Ulm and Sleepy Eye or by logging on to www.knuj.net.
