The City of Fairmont’s summer festival has been cancelled this year due to a lack of volunteers to help plan the event. Only 2 people stepped forward this year to help organize the Fairmont Interlaken Heritage Days Summer Fun Festival. Bev Korolewski and Bonnie Taplin, the only 2 people on the festival’s committee, say that at least 8 to 10 reliable people are needed to make the summer celebration a reality. Time is running out to book entertainment for this year, but the hope is that enough people will get involved to bring the festival back in 2013.
