A 7-year-old boy and a 47-year-old Arlington man are both dead following an accident in the Wright County community of Montrose Friday morning. State Patrol Lt. Eric Roeske says that Robert Mercier of Arlington was driving a Ford Taurus westbound on Highway 12 through Montrose when the vehicle veered off the highway at just after 8am and struck 7-year-old Hayden Solien of Montrose while he was waiting for a school bus. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. Officials believe that Mercier ran a red light at the intersection of Highways 12 and 25, and are investigating whether a medical problem was involved.
