Cause Of Mankato Arson Fire 15 Feb 12

Authorities in Mankato say that a suspicious fire at an apartment building earlier this week was started by a bag of “miscellaneous debris” that had been lit on fire in the building’s entry way. The fire at the Homestead Drive apartments has been ruled a case of arson, but investigators have found no signs of an accelerant, so the ignition source remains undetermined. The apartments were evacuated briefly while the fire was brought under control, and no one was injured. Damage was estimated at $1,500.
