Brown County DFL Caucus 09 Feb 12

Brown County Democrats in New Ulm unanimously supported Barack Obama’s re-election bid during Tuesday night’s precinct caucuses. Some of the resolutions approved by DFL’ers during the caucus included saying no to the Marriage Amendment that will appear on the state ballot in November, opposing a proposed amendment to require picture IDs to vote in Minnesota, and requiring a legislative supermajority to pass tax increase legislation. Several other resolutions were discussed as well, including preventing the state from borrowing from education funds to balance the budget, and preventing Legacy Amendment funds from being used for projects such as professional sports stadiums. The resolutions will be presented at the Brown County DFL Convention, which will be held at 1pm on Sunday, March 11th at the New Ulm American Legion.
