NHL Holds All-Star Game Draft
(Ottawa, Ontario) — The NHL held a fantasy-style draft for this Sunday’s All-Star Game in Ottawa last night. The teams were chosen by Bruins defenseman Zdeno Chara and Senators center Daniel Alfredsson. Chara took Red Wings forward Pavel Datsyuk [[ DAT-zook ]] with the first overall pick. Alfredsson chose teammate and defenseman Erik Karlsson second overall. Meantime, Wild forward Nick Johnson was named to Alfredsson’s rookie team.

Wolves Host Spurs
(Minneapolis, MN) — The Timberwolves take on the Spurs tonight at the Target Center. Minnesota notched a 105-90 road win over the Mavericks on Wednesday. The Wolves upped their record to 8-and-10 with the victory. Tip-off tonight is at 7:00 p.m.

Gophers Host Illini
(Minneapolis, MN) — Minnesota will host Illinois at Williams Arena tomorrow night. The Gophers are looking to bounce back from Wednesday’s 68-52 road loss to 11th-ranked Michigan State. Minnesota dropped to 3-and-5 in Big Ten play and 15-and-6 overall. Tip-off tomorrow is at 7:00 p.m.

Lynx Re-Sign Adair
(Minneapolis, MN) — The defending WNBA champion Lynx re-signed center Jessica Adair yesterday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Adair averaged 5.8 points and 3.6 rebounds during the playoffs last year. Adair was a third-round pick by Phoenix in the 2009 WNBA Draft.
