Split Pea and Ham Soup 18 Jan 12

1 lb split peas, pre-soaked and drained
2 quarts water
3 stalks celery, sliced
1 ham bone
1 bay leaf
1 sliced onion
2 sliced carrots
salt and pepper to taste

Combine all the ingredients in a slow cooker. Cover pot, turn on low. Cook 8-10 hours or until peas are tender. Remove ham bone. Cut meat into small pieces and return to slow cooker.
