The Sleepy Eye School Board filled a vacant seat on the board during it’s first meeting of the new year this week. Keith Lendt was chosen to fill the Sleepy Eye School Board seat vacated by Kary Nelson, who is moving out of town. In other business on Wednesday, the board elected Sheila Sellner as clerk. Other board officers remained the same as last year. The board also heard an update on the possible move to a 4-day school week following site visits to a pair of districts that have already gone to a shorter week. Sleepy Eye School District officials will be holding public hearings on the possible shift to a four-day week next school year later this month. The meetings will take place from 6 to 8pm in the Sleepy Eye Elementary School gym on Wednesday, January 18th, Wednesday, January 25th and Monday, January 30th.
