A 21-year-old Mankato man was seriously injured early Monday morning in a rollover accident just outside of Eagle Lake. Patrick Lawler Mahan lost control of his Ford Taurus and was ejected from the car as it rolled several times just southwest of the Eagle Lake city limits. Authorities say the car was likely going too fast for Mahan to navigate a sharp turn. He was taken to the Mankato Mayo Hospital and then transferred to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester to be treated for leg injuries and a possible punctured lung. His passenger, Brady Andrew Oelke was wearing a seat belt and received only minor injuries. Investigators say that alcohol appears to be a factor in the crash, and blood samples were taken from Mahan for analysis.
