The Norwood Young America City Council got a new member this week. Richard Stolz was appointed to the council seat left vacant by the resignation of Chad Eischens in December. Stolz will serve the 1 year remaining on Eischen’s term. Stolz brings a wealth of experience to the position. He served as the Clerk of Laketown Township for 6 years, as Carver County Auditor for 6 years, and spent 17 years as the Carver County Administrator. He has also served as the Chair of numerous organizations, is a member of the Norwood Young America Planning Commission, and is the commander of the community’s American Legion post. He ran for Mayor of Norwood Young America in 2010 as well, but was defeated by Tina Diedrick by just over 300 votes.
