The GFW School District got a new superintendent this week. GFW High School Principal Jeff Bertrang was officially named GFW Superintendent during the school board meeting in Fairfax this week. He replaces Superintendent Tony Boyer, who resigned due to health issues. Bertrang will take on the additional duties of superintendent for the next 6 months, for an additional pro-rated salary, and will then begin a 3-year superintendent contract on July 1st. He will be paid $105,000 for the first year of the contract, with upcoming years then negotiable. He also has the option to return to his duties as high school principal if he or the GFW School Board should so choose. The advertising for the vacant principal position for next school year will begin in the near future.
