The object of a major manhunt across southern Minnesota this week following a shooting in Medford was arrested in Owatonna on Wednesday. Police were called to the Medford McDonald’s on Monday for a report of shots being fired. A vehicle with the suspected shooter and a vehicle with the shooting victims left the restaurant before police arrived, and various law enforcement agencies have been searching for them since. Authorities had previously arrested a man and a woman in connection with the shooting, and 44-year-old Jason Paul Krieg was caught Wednesday after a short foot chase. All three suspects remain in custody, and could face charges of aiding an offender, attempted murder and possession of narcotics. Among the agencies participating in Krieg’s arrest on Wednesday was the South Central Drug Investigation Unit, with includes members of Waseca County law enforcement agencies.
