A Mankato man faces felony charges after a domestic assault incident early Sunday morning led to standoff with area SWAT teams that lasted several hours. 24-year-old Shane Darrel Heiden was arrested at his home on Mills Street in Mankato after several hours of negotiation with the Minnesota River Valley Tactical Response Team and the South Central Drug Investigative Unit Tactical Team. Police had initially responded to a domestic call in a vehicle at shortly after 2am Sunday, and were then called again later about continuing threatening incidents by the same suspect. Heiden was alone at the house at the time, and he was arrested without incident at 5am after several hours of negotiation during which he allegedly threatened his girlfriend and her family, as well as law enforcement officers. He faces charges of terroristic threats, domestic assault and criminal damage to property.
