Mankato Child Porn Plea 31 Jan 12

A plea deal was reached Monday with a 62-year-old Mankato man accused of possessing child pornography and showing pornography to minors at his trailer park. Rodney Oberg will plead guilty to 3 counts of possession of child pornography and one count of showing pornographic images to a child as part of the plea agreement. In exchange, 3 counts of 1st-Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct and 2 counts of possession of child pornography will be dismissed. Oberg and his roommate, 51-year-old Jeremy Wolfe were arrested at the Eastwood Manor trailer park in Mankato this past April after several parents reported that the 2 had shown their children pornography. Wolfe was sentenced to time served in July, and was ordered to serve an additional 28 days in jail. A 25-month prison term was stayed. Oberg was released from jail Monday as part of the plea deal with the conditions that he have no contact with children under 18 without supervision and not use the internet. A pre-sentence investigation will now be conducted and his sentencing is set for April 3rd.
