A Janesville man was taken into custody Sunday morning after a car chase and a standoff with the police SWAT Team. Authorities received a call at around 3:30am that a woman was being assaulted on West 2nd Street in Janesville, and when officers arrived on the scene 43-year-old Michael James Arndt reportedly refused to come out of the residence, and claimed to have guns. That’s when the SWAT Team was called to the scene, at which point Arndt fled to the Southtown mobile home park. A warrant was then received, and at around 9:30am the Swat Team entered the home and arrested Arndt without incident. He remains in custody in the Waseca County Jail, and charges are pending.
