An Arlington couple were recently selected to receive the city’s Darwin Mathwig Community Service Award. Dave and Dee Czech were chosen for the honor because of their community spirit, service, and dedication. It is presented annually to Arlington residents who emulate Darwin Mathwig’s community involvement. Dave Czech served on the Arlington Police Commission, the Sibley County Food Shelf and Sibley Medical Center boards, and other organizations for many years, and was the mayor of Arlington for several years as well. Dee Czech helped bring the Traverse des Sioux Library Service to Sibley County, has been an instrumental part of the community’s annual spring cleanups and recycling programs, and much more.
