An Albert Lea man is in serious condition after spending more than six hours in his car in a frigid creek in southern Minnesota. 53-year-old Lyndon Schewe left Interstate 90 north of Albert Lea at around 6:30am Thursday. Authorities did not discover him in Wedge Creek until about 1pm. Schewe had to be extricated from his Buick. He was airlifted to St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, where he was listed in serious condition as of Friday. Authorities have not released what caused the crash or how Schewe ended up in the creek. The Minnesota State Patrol lists the crash as a rollover.
