Forward Bonzi Wells has not played in the NBA since the 2007-2008 season, but he is trying to make a comeback with the Minnesota Timberwolves, who signed Wells to a contract on Thursday.
The 35-year-old Wells has only a camp contract and is not guaraneteed a spot on the roster, and with 15 other players already under contract, the Wolves would have to waive or trade another player to keep Wells.
The 6-foot-5 Wells played for current Minnesota head coach Rick Adleman in Houston and Sacramento, so Adelman must think Wells has something to contribute.
In his last season in the NBA four years ago, Wells averaged 9.1 points and 4.5 rebounds while splitting time between Houston and New Orleans.
The Timbelwolves also signed second-round pick Malcolm Lee to a three-year contract.
