State Republican Party Problems 26 Dec 11

Minnesota’s Republican Party is finding out this week how much in debt it is, and who two new key leaders will be. The party might be more than a million dollars in debt, part of which is a $17,000 fine charged by the Federal Election Commission. Later this week they are expected to name the successor for party chairman Tony Sutton and former Majority Leader Amy Koch. Sutton quit his position recently amid accusations he hadn’t informed party leaders about the growing debt, and Koch resigned after admitting to having an inappropriate relationship with a staffer.
