Sleepy Eye Criminal Sexual Conduct Conviction 02 Dec 11

A 41-year-old man has turned himself in to police earlier this year for sexually abusing family members in both Wells and Sleepy Eye was convicted of criminal sexual conduct on Wednesday. Jose Luis Perales described himself as “a monster” to police when he admitted to sexually abusing both male and female family members for several years. He has been in custody in the Brown County Jail since February. He was convicted on the 1st-degree felony charge in Brown County Court on Wednesday and was sentenced to 158 months in prison. He was then placed on conditional release for a period of 5 years, and ordered to register as a predatory offender. Two additional criminal sexual conduct charges were dismissed.
