The preparations are underway for the annual Polar Bear Plunge in the City of St. Peter, and registration for everyone wanting to jump into a frozen lake is now open. Polar Bear Plunges take place across the state every winter, and are sponsored by Minnesota law enforcement to benefit Special Olympics Minnesota. Last year’s St. Peter Polar Bear Plunge raised more than $74,000 for the Special Olympics. Participants are asked to raise a minimum of $75 in pledges. For more information, and to register to take part in the Plunge, go online to www.plungemn.org.
