Patient Abuse At St. Peter State Security Hospital 23 Dec 11

The state Human Services Department has released a report uncovering abuses of mentally-ill patients at the state security hospital in St. Peter. The report cites staff abuses of two patients, included isolating them for extended periods of time and forcing one to sleep on a concrete slab for 25 nights. The hospital, which houses the state’s most dangerous mentally-ill patients, has been fined and its operating license is now on conditional status for two years.
