A Waseca County woman and her teenage daughter face criminal charges after allegedly attempting to steal over a thousand dollars worth of perfume from a Mankato business. 34-year-old Angela Nicole Soto Beltran of Otisco and her 13-year-old daughter are accused of taking perfume from the Mankato Kohl’s store Tuesday evening and refusing to stop when confronted by a store employee outside. The 2 reportedly fled in a vehicle, with Beltran nearly striking the employee as she backed out of a parking stall. The vehicle’s license plate number was recorded, however, and Beltran was arrested at her residence. She faces charges of felony theft. The 13-year-old was not taken into custody but does face unspecified charges.
