The Canadian Pacific Holiday Train helped raise over a ton of food for the New Ulm Area Emergency Food Shelf during it’s stop in New Ulm Wednesday evening. The special train with musical entertainment and over 18,000 feet of LED lights rolled through the local area Wednesday, also making stops in Springfield and Janesville. Over a thousand people were on hand for the Holiday Train’s stop in New Ulm, and a total of 2,702 pounds of food and $1,122 in cash was donated to the New Ulm Food Shelf during the stop. Canadian Pacific donated a thousand dollars to the food shelf during the New Ulm stop as well. So far this year, the Holiday Train tour has raised $5.6 million in cash and 2.6 million pounds of food for the various food shelves in the communities it has travelled through.
