Henderson Police Department Appointments 22 Dec 11

The makeup of the Henderson Police Department for next year was decided on Tuesday when the Henderson City Council officially accepted the recommendations of the city’s personnel committee. The city council unanimously approved of the recommendation to have Interim Henderson Police Chief Pat Nienaber be appointed the city’s police chief as of January 1st. He will serve in that position through December 31st of next year for the recommended salary of $16,000. The council also accepted the recommendations that Henderson Police Officer Eric Karels be promoted to full-time Police Sergeant for $18 an hour as of January 1st, and that Chief Nienaber be authorized to hire an additional full-time officer. Those 2 recommendations were approved on a 3-2 vote, with Councilors Les Mediger and Randy Tiegs voting “No.”
