2 cups sugar
1-1/2 cup white syrup
1 cup butter
1 pint cream
1 tsp vanilla
nuts, optional

Spray and butter a 9×13 inch pan. Mix first 4 ingredients together and bring to a boil. Stir constantly and continue to boil until mixture reaches “soft ball” stage on thermometer. Remove from heat and add nuts and vanilla. Pour mixture into pan and let set and cool. Cut into 1 inch strips and then into bite size pieces and wrap in wax paper.
