There are several blood drives taking place around the area this week as the Red Cross struggles to keep a supply of blood readily available. Spokesperson Nick Gehrig says blood donations go down in December. Gehrig says the Red Cross makes a financial contribution to it’s holiday giving program for every donor who gives blood this month. The Bloodmobile will be at the Waseca American Legion from Noon to 6 today (MON), at Scholarship America in St. Peter from 11am to 4pm on Tuesday as well as at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson from Noon to 6 Tuesday. Eligible donors can give blood at the Fairmont Holiday Inn from Noon to 6 on Wednesday, 1 to 7 Thursday, and 9 to 2 on Friday, and the New Ulm Medical Center hosts a blood drive from 8am to 1pm this coming Friday.
