A Belle plaine man faces felony theft charges for allegedly stealing nearly $2,500 worth of tools and cash from his place of employment. 31-year-old Shawn Christopher Craft is accused of taking almost $2,000 in tools from his work, John’s Mobile Service, as well as $448 in cash. Craft had reportedly been caught stealing from the business twice before the latest incidents, but had admitted to the thefts in both of those incidents and repaid the owner. He initially denied the latest round of thefts, but at least 43 of the stolen items were found to have been sold by Craft to area pawnshops and he admitted to the crimes. His next court appearance is set for January 23rd.
