MLB Announces New Labor Deal
(New York, NY) — Major League Baseball and the Players Association announced a new five-year collective bargaining agreement on Tuesday. The new deal runs through the 2016 season and guarantees 21 years of uninterrupted labor peace in the league. Among the elements included in the new CBA are blood testing for human growth hormone, spending limits on the draft, additional Wild Card playoff berths beginning no later than 2013, realignment with Houston moving to the American League West to give each league 15 teams, and an increase in the minimum major league player salary.

Wild Hosts Preds
(St. Paul, MN) — The Wild will host the Nashville Predators at The X this evening. Minnesota has been off since notching a 3-2 shootout win over the Blues on Saturday. Minnesota has won four straight to enter tonight’s tilt 12-and-5 on the season. The puck drops at 7:00 p.m.

Gophers Travel To Orlando
(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota men’s basketball team travelled to Orlando yesterday for the Old Spice Classic. The Gophers will do battle with DePaul at 1:00 p.m. tomorrow afternoon. The other teams in this weekend’s tournament include Indiana State, Texas Tech, Dayton, Wake Forest, Fairfield and Arizona State. Minnesota improved to 4-and-0 with an 85-56 mauling of Mount St. Mary’s on Monday.
