The Sleepy Eye Public School building was locked down Wednesday morning after a bomb threat was discovered. A note about a bomb was found in a school lavatory at just before 10am Wednesday, and the Sleepy Eye Police Department was called. Two police officers as well as the school superintendent, maintenance manager and a custodian searched the building, but found no evidence of a bomb. The lockdown lasted about an hour. Students and staff did not leave their class rooms during the search, but the exterior school doors were locked.
