Motorists can expect to encounter minor delays beginning this week as crews begin resurfacing highways in Renville and McLeod Counties. Affected highways include Highway 22 from Hutchinson to Biscay, Highway 4 from the junction of Highway 19 to three miles north, and the westbound lanes of Highway 212 about a mile west of Plato. The work will include flaggers and pilot cars, if necessary, and the projects are expected to be completed by next Tuesday, weather permitting. The Knife River Corporation is the contractor for the $540,000 project. Mn/DOT reminds drivers to stay alert in construction zones and expect the unexpected, never enter a road blocked with barriers or cones, plan ahead and expect delays, and remember to follow posted speed limits because speeding fines double in work zones.
