The former Budget Mart property on South Broadway in New Ulm was auctioned off on Thursday. Heather Hammer of New Ulm purchased the property from Brown County for the minimum bid of $65,000. There were no other bidders. The property had been taken by the county from its previous owners for non-payment of taxes. Hammer is the owner of A2Zinnia, a wedding and event florist business, and plans to open a florist shop in the former convenience store. This property had been auctioned off in a previous sale as well, but the sale didn’t close and the property reverted to the county.
