A convicted sex offender living in New Ulm is back in custody after allegedly exposing himself to another person recently. 48-year-old James Allen Binger had been living on South Front Street in New Ulm since early last year after serving an 86-month prison sentence for sexually abusing young boys in Renville and Nicollet Counties. He was arrested for indecent exposure earlier this month after allegedly exposing himself to a man fishing at New Ulm’s Minnecon Park. He is scheduled to make his first appearance for the new charge on December 20th, and is being held in the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Lino Lakes in the meantime. Level 3 sex offenders are those considered most likely to re-offend. Renville County had unsuccessfully attempted to have Binger committed as a sexually dangerous person after his prison term. He was scheduled to be on supervised release until November of 2014. If convicted on the new charge he could serve more prison time.
