The 23rd annual Parade of Lights takes place this (FRI) evening in New Ulm. The parade has a record number of more than 50 units this year, and Santa Claus himself will again ride into town on a fire truck at the end of the parade. It begins at 6pm at 4th South Street and travels through downtown New Ulm to 4th North. The chamber office in downtown New Ulm will be open from 5 to 7pm serving milk and cookies, and special “Snowflake Glasses” to enhance the parade will be available for $1. Also, beginning at 3pm today the New Ulm Public Library will feature a free showing of “A Muppet Christmas Carol” to help get the family in the holiday spirit.
