The search for a new superintendent for the Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial School District is underway. Current Superintendent Les Norman is retiring as of June 30th next year. The Lake Crystal School Board has selected South Central Services Cooperative as the firm that will conduct the search for his replacement, and will now be asking for public input on what a new superintendent should bring to the position. Community feedback on the strengths of the school district and what traits a superintendent should possess will be gathered during a pair of public meetings next Thursday. The first will held at 6pm at Garden City’s Wellcome Memorial Community Room, the second at 8pm at the Lake Crystal Wellcome Memorial Secondary School Media Center. All district community members are encouraged to attend either meeting. Former Mankato Schools Superintendent Ed Waltman has been named the Superintendent Search Specialist.
