A home in rural Elysian was destroyed by a fire Wednesday night. The LeSueur County Sheriff’s office says the fire at the Ed Miller residence on County Road 16 was reported at just after 7pm Wednesday. Fire Departments from Elysian, Waterville, and Madison Lake all responded. When fire crews arrived on the scene they found the home engulfed in flames and starting to collapse. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but investigators believe it started in a wood burning stove or a chimney. The homeowner was not home at the time, and no injuries were reported.
