More than 40% of Minnesota is experiencing drought conditions and there’s little relief in sight. Much of the southern half of the state has received nine inches less rain than normal since July. Meteorologist Shawn Devinny says the extended forecast indicates that we’re in for more of the same for the foreseeable future. Devinny does note that the ground is not yet frozen due to recent mild temperatures so any liquid precipitation that we receive will help recharge soil moisture levels.
