Authorities have confirmed the identity of human remains discovered in a wooded area near Granite Falls over the weekend. The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office today (TUE) confirmed that the body discovered on Saturday is that of 27-year-old Eric Martinez Solorzano, who has been missing since April. He disappeared as he walked along Highway 212 between Montevideo and Granite Falls, near the Wildlife Management Area where the remains were found. An extensive search of the area had been performed by law enforcement and fire department volunteers following his disappearance April 2nd, but because of high flood waters and fast moving current searchers were unable to locate him. The area that the remains were found has only been out of the water for the past month. The investigation into the cause of his death continues pending final autopsy results.
