Minnesota’s dry weather pattern isn’t showing any immediate signs of relief — so there’s no end in sight for two large fires in northern Minnesota. Public Information Officer Carson Berglund says he’s seen fires that defied a change in season, such as the 1976 fire that went well into Thanksgiving with freezing temperatures. The latest report from the Pagami Creek fire in the Superior National Forest says fire activity has increased in several areas with active surface fire and group tree torching. Fire restrictions are back in place with fires allowed only in designated campgrounds in the forest. Fires are forbidden in the entire BWCA.
