Green Bay Bests Minnesota
(Minneapolis, MN) — Aaron Rodgers was stellar for the Packers as they took down NFC North foe Minnesota, 33-27. Rodgers completed 24 of his 30 passes for 335 yards and three touchdowns for Green Bay, which stayed undefeated at 7-and-0. Christian Ponder collected 219 yards, two TD’s, and two interceptions in his first NFL start. Adrian Peterson rumbled for 175 yards and a score on 24 carries. Michael Jenkins only made three receptions, but corralled 111 yards and a touchdown in the loss, which puts the Vikings at 1-and-6. Minnesota heads to Carolina to take on the Panthers next week.
Gophers Fall To Husker
(Minneapolis, MN) — Taylor Martinez passed for a touchdown and Rex Burkhead ran for another, as the 13th-ranked Cornhuskers beat the Golden Gophers, 41-14 on Saturday. MarQueis Gray ran for the first of Minnesota’s two second-half touchdowns, but finished with just 122 yards on 9-of-18 passing while committing a turnover that led to a Nebraska score. Gray also led Minnesota’s ground attack with 67 yards. The Gophers host the Iowa Hawkeyes on Saturday.
Canucks Clip Wild In OT
(Vancouver, British Columbia) — Sami Salo’s power play goal with 21 seconds left in overtime lifted the Canucks to a 3-2 win over the Wild on Saturday. Devin Setoguchi and Kyle Brodziak had the goals for Minnesota, which has dropped three-of-four. Niklas Backstrom allowed all three goals on 32 shots in the loss. The Wild are back in action Thursday night when they host the Anaheim Ducks.
