A Minnesota State Trooper was injured in a collision with a deer on Highway 15 Sunday night, but his injuries could have been much worse. Trooper Lonnie Pregler was traveling south on 15 south of Hutchinson when the deer jumped out and slammed into his squad car. The animal’s head and antlers went through the driver’s side windshield, and were just inches away from goring Pregler and causing serious injuries. He walked away with only minor injuries. The State Patrol reminds motorists that October and November are the peak months for deer-vehicle crashes, and even their officers are not immune from the dangers that poses.
